Baker Rural Fire District – August 2024 Meeting
THE REGULAR SCHEDULED BAKER RURAL DISTRICT MEETING WAS HELD AUGUST 8, 2024, AT 7:00 P.M. AT 8254 HIGHWAY 12 IN THE RURAL DISTRICT OFFICE.
PRESENT: Chairman; Turk Stark, Vice Chairman; Randy Hoenke, Treasurer; Dick Chester, Trustee; Fred Hoff, Fire Chief; Tom Bruha, Secretary; Stephanie Croy
ABSENT: Trustee; Chris Meccage
A motion was made to approve the presented minutes of the July 3, 2024, meeting by Dick. The motion was 2nd by Fred. Motion carried. All Aye.
OLD BUSINESS:
Top Gun Asphalt still has not got back to Tom with a quote. Tom is now going to check around with who else might do this. Turk is going to look into Dickinson.
Unit #490 should be done in about 3 to 4 weeks. They called Tom this past month with the price to paint the frame. Tom contacted all members with price of $2900.00. The members were on board to have them paint the frame. Tom mentioned that Gary Zumbrum may be able to bring the truck back if he is able to work it for a load that way.
The Strangford wrecked building was cleaned up by Baker Metal. We would like to say thank you to them for cleaning up the building. Chuck has not been able to start on building yet but will have it done before winter.
NEW BUSINESS:
South Towers air conditioner was out so had Chester put new conditioner in.
Unit #476 needed new tires put on, after the last trip out to a fire there was a blown tire on truck.
Unit #440 needs some work on the pump. The pump loses its prime when going downhill.
There was some discussion on new trucks. Golva brought a truck to a fire; Turk would like to look into getting something similar to. Tom also mentioned that Custer County is getting military trucks for new units.
Turk made the motion to pay the bills. Dick 2nd the motion. The following claims were approved to be paid:
There being no further business to come before the board. Dick made the motion to adjourn the meeting. Turk 2nd the motion. Motion Carried. All Aye. The meeting adjourned at 7:55 P.M.
