Baker Rural Fire District – June 2024 Meeting
THE REGULAR SCHEDULED BAKER RURAL DISTRICT MEETING WAS HELD JUNE 6, 2024, AT 7:00 P.M. AT 8254 HIGHWAY 12 IN THE RURAL DISTRICT OFFICE.
PRESENT: Chairman; Turk Stark, Vice Chairman; Randy Hoenke, Treasurer; Dick Chester, Trustee; Fred Hoff, Trustee; Chris Meccage, Fire Chief; Tom Bruha, Secretary; Stephanie Croy
A motion was made to approve the presented minutes of the May 2, 2024 meeting by Randy. The motion was 2nd by Dick. Motion carried. All Aye.
OLD BUSINESS:
Tom heard about the Unit #490. The tank will hopefully be there this week.
Top Gun Asphalt never would get back to Tom with a quote. Tom did talk to him 3 times this week.
The DNRC truck had the inspection this last month. The truck passed the inspection.
NEW BUSINESS:
Last month a fire building at Strangfords was damaged in the storm. Tom and Turk met with Jade. The buildings were under insured. The prices for the buildings are $40,000 for the bigger and$20,000 for the smaller buildings. Motion was made by Chris to see what it would cost to insure the buildings for the amounts of $40,000 for larger building and $20,000 for smaller buildings not exceeding those amounts. Dick 2nd the motion. Motion carried. All Aye.
The board talked about having the building replaced at Strangfords. Tom was able to get one quote from Graham for $10,350.00. The board discussed they would like to get one more quote. Tom will try and get one more this week. Tabled for now.
Tom mentioned that June 12th there will be a Wildland Refresher Training. He would like for everyone to be there.
The insurance policy for Accident and Sickness was renewed.
The budget is due on June 10th. There was much discussion. The motion was made by Dick to keep the budget the same as last year expect for the Insurance amount to be increased by $10,000 and a transfer of $135,000.00 to the Capital Projects. Chris 2nd the motion. Motion carried. All Aye.
Motion was made by Randy to have the transfer for this year of $135,000.00 to Capital Projects. Motion was 2nd by Dick. Motion carried. All Aye.
Chris made the motion to pay the bills. Randy 2nd the motion.

There being no further business to come before the board. Dick made the motion to adjourn the meeting. Chris 2nd the motion. Motion Carried. All Aye. The meeting adjourned at 9:19 P.M.
