Baker Rural Fire District – March 6th, 2025 Meeting

THE REGULAR SCHEDULED BAKER RURAL DISTRICT MEETING WAS HELD MARCH 6, 2025, AT 7:00 P.M. AT 8254 HIGHWAY 12 IN THE RURAL DISTRICT OFFICE.

PRESENT: Chairman; Turk Stark, Vice Chairman; Randy Hoenke, Treasurer; Dick Chester, Trustee; Chris Meccage, Trustee; Fred Hoff, Fire Chief; Tom Bruha, Secretary; Stephanie Croy

GUEST: Dillon Schooley

A motion was made to approve the presented minutes of the February 13, 2025 meeting by Randy.  The motion was 2nd by Dick.   Motion carried.  All Aye.

OLD BUSINESS:

Tom was able to get ahold of Chuck finally.   He is back in Oklahoma but did tell Tom when he is back up here in April the building he promised before winter will be at the top of the list.  The quote he gave back in June of 2024 he will also still honor.

The lights for the outside of the building have been ordered.  Direct Electric did work on the sign lights and would like to make some adjustments on them.  

Last month Chris announced he will not be able to full fill his term on the board.   Tom talked to Shawn Strangford about filling in for the remainder of Chris term.  The board held some discussion.  Board approved, now Turk will take it to the commissioners for their approval.

Unit #490 is completely fixed and back in the station.

NEW BUSINESS:

Tom, called on Dillon to share about the Minot Training held towards the beginning of the month.  Dillon, shared there were alot of classes.  Evan Morris and Dillon both attended the schooling.   Plan to share what they all learned up there with the rest of the members.  Dillion could not say enough positive things about the training.

Unit #415 has a bad pump.   Tom talked about the different options for the issue.  After some discussion Fred made the motion to order a new motor for the pump.   Dick 2nd the motion.  Motion carried.  All Aye.

Tom mentioned next Wednesday March 12 at 6:00pm there will be Wildland Refreshers Training Class.   Then on May 3 & 4 there will be a Rope Rescue Class.  The members also have been talking they would like to burn the creek by the station before it greens up. 

Fred made the motion to pay the bills.  Randy 2nd the motion.

There being no further business to come before the board.  Dick made the motion to adjourn the meeting.  Randy 2nd the motion.  Motion Carried.   All Aye.   The meeting adjourned at 7:45 P.M.
