Baker Rural Fire District November 2023 Meeting
THE REGULAR SCHEDULED BAKER RURAL DISTRICT MEETING WAS HELD NOVEMBER 9, 2023 AT 7:00 P.M. AT 8254 HIGHWAY 12 IN THE RURAL DISTRICT OFFICE.
PRESENT: Chairman; Turk Stark, Vice Chairman; Randy Hoenke, Trustee; Fred Hoff, Trustee; Chris Meccage, Fire Chief; Tom Bruha, Secretary; Stephanie Croy
ABSENT: Treasurer; Dick Chester
Motion was made to approve the presented minutes of the October 12, 2023, meeting by Randy. The motion was 2nd by Chris. Motion carried. All Aye.
OLD BUSINESS:
After the claim was sent to Montana Fund for Mike Stark, we have received a letter noting claim is missing. Turk is going to follow up with Jade about what is going on.
The wash bay lights have not been installed due to still waiting on parts. Direct Electric will start as soon as parts are in.
The light on the south tower is needing some work. Tom mentioned that Eric, who works for TABs in Glendive, was in a bad accident. He is planning to come back to work. Just not sure how long it will be. Tom has talked to someone in Miles City to work on South tower. The plan to have TAB’s switch the South tower to 24-hour service is up in the air.
NEW BUSINESS:
The board received a letter from City of Baker about Property Taxes. After looking into the taxes, it appears to be from the 6th Street project. There was some discussion about the department being tax exempt. Turk will be setting up a meeting with the treasurer’s office and commissioners to get more information about taxes for the board.
Chris made the motion to pay the bills. Fred 2nd the motion. The following claims were approved to be paid:
There being no further business to come before the board. Randy made the motion to adjourn the meeting. Chirs 2nd the motion. Motion Carried. All Aye. The meeting adjourned at 8:50 P.M.
