Baker Rural Fire District – October 2024 Meeting
THE REGULAR SCHEDULED BAKER RURAL DISTRICT MEETING WAS HELD OCTOBER 3, 2024, AT 7:00 P.M. AT 8254 HIGHWAY 12 IN THE RURAL DISTRICT OFFICE.
PRESENT: Chairman; Turk Stark, Treasurer; Dick Chester, Trustee; Chris Meccage, Trustee; Fred Hoff, Fire Chief; Tom Bruha, Secretary; Stephanie Croy
ABSENT: Vice Chairman; Randy Hoenke
A motion was made to approve the presented minutes of the September 5, 2024, meeting by Fred. The motion was 2nd by Chris. Motion carried. All Aye.
OLD BUSINESS:
Unit #490 is back in town and needs a little work done. Randy is working on finding the part. There were also two air leaks found. Evan Miller will fix this after the fire season.
Emergency Apparatus was here and completed pump test on all the trucks. All the units passed the test.
The ladder truck also received the annual ladder inspection, which it also passed with no work needing to be done.
Last month there was training, which everyone thought was great training. There was a good turnout with 30 showing up.
NEW BUSINESS:
Unit #426 is due for hose testing this year, which this will be done next month.
The DNRC truck does not have a siren, law enforcement does not like it responding to fires with no siren. Tom talked to the DNRC guys being we don’t own it. They were ok with a siren on the truck. They were ok with this so Tom has it lined up for a siren to be mounted.
Dick made the motion to pay the bills. Chris 2nd the motion.
The following claims were approved to be paid:
There will be training on the 11th Grass Rig Pump. Please be here at 6:00 p.m. and supper will be provided.
There being no further business to come before the board. Dick made the motion to adjourn the meeting. Chris 2nd the motion. Motion Carried. All Aye. The meeting adjourned at 7:58 P.M.
