Fallon County Noxious Weed Board Minutes – February 2nd 2025

FALLON COUNTY WEED BOARD

February 2, 2025

Members in attendance: Amanda Frickel, Lance Kono, Roddy Rost, Sara Berger & Bev Burghduff

• Called the Meeting to order at 5:38pm
• Roddy moved to accept the minutes from the January meeting, Amanda 2^nd – motion carried.
• Sara updated the board that Nicole Wiess and Tony Gunderson were the only 2 left the pay bills. Discussion was had on what happens if a bill is not paid. Sara said that eventually it will get added to taxes – the department won’t see the money, but it will be paid. Amanda moved to have Sara call Tony & Nicole to just touch base and remind them Lance 2^nd – motion carried. Bev moved that if people who do not pay their bill want chemical the following year, they will need to pay cash/check upfront for it for the remainder of their weed management plan, Amanda 2^nd – motion carried.
• Sara updated the board on the MWCA Annual Conference. Presentations were really good, and she was re-elected as Southeast Area Representative and Coordinator Chair Support for another 2 years.
• Lance asked about the new UTVs and where we are with them. Sara said that Riverside in Miles City only had one Honda and were trying to find another one since that is what the quote was for, and she was going to look around for other places but would have quotes at the next meeting.
• Sara made the recommendation to the board that we add Absinthe Wormwood to the County Weed List with it being listed in ND and SD and it’s already established in Fallon County. Amanda moved to add Absinthe Wormwood, Lance 2^nd – motion carried.
• The next weed board meeting will be March 3^rd at 5pm.
• Meeting adjourned at 6:15pm
