Convene:
The meeting was called to order by Curt at 4:08 pm at the O’Fallon Museum metal building.
Public Comment: Time limit 10 minutes per subject.
Minutes: Read by trustees.
Toni made a motion to approve minutes as corrected and Curt seconded. Minutes approved.
Accessions: (Motion to accept made by Toni and Curt seconded.)
- Abby Morris – Items from Riley Country School from 1934-35
- Desks
- Mom’s aunt Bessie Householder
- Do we have names of where they are from in the schoolhouse? Some do, some don’t.
- Dictionary – smaller than others. Kids may be able to use it.
- Butter churn – different gear box and paddles with glass jar.
- Other butter churns could be used for kids to try.
- Desks
- Peggy Smith – dolls – might be nurse dolls
- Toni will get a picture of them when she visits.
- Dr. Young – First doctor in Baker who left in the 1940s.
- Misc documents – Family pictures and birth certificates
Discussion of Curator’s Report:
- Narrative for Grid United grant for trackless train done for Community Investment Program (CIP). Due Nov. 1.
- AARP Baker History Walk Grant – Went live on Sept. 28 and there have been 60 scans.
- Sixth grade class with Johnson
- Angela Heiser had comments about Heiser’s history
- New website – any input is welcome!
- LEGO Fridays – about 20+ people from 10 am – 2 pm.
- Some kids come in and engage in other activities.
- Regional Museum meeting – people with Hettinger, Bowman, Terry, & Baker
- Terry working in sustainable museum – had a lot of questions
- Could not attend the MPMA conference in Bismarck.
- Traci – accessioning and organizing. She keeps finding items that have never been processed.
- Night at the Museum
- Alyson Lineback, Lew Price, Bo Rost (hasn’t answered)
- Trick or Treat – need to get bags ready and need volunteers
- Meeting with commission tomorrow – Will provide updates about programming
- MSU student teachers for rural teaching program – Wendy Morical – enjoyed a museum tour
- Plan for maintenance and organizational projects needs to be completed.
- Emergency/disaster plan
- Water damage in south jail entrance
- Need door seals and painting.
- Need to finish collection management plan
New Business:
- CIP grant project
- Film Proposal – History of Here with Ashton Call Films (maybe ask Ken Howe?)
- 5-8 minute documentary plus trailer – $11,100
- Movable walls that are 4×6 with slatwall on one side and painted panels on the facing side showing each part of the History of Here
