FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

On 11/27/2025 at 1350 hours, an off-duty Deputy, received a phone call on his duty cell from a
suspect making demands. The suspect stated that if his demands were not met in a timely manner
he was going to “come down armed to the teeth.” The suspect then immediately hung up the
phone. With that information, all law enforcement within the county was notified and the Fallon
County Courthouse was advised to shelter in place.

Contact was made with the suspect a short time later and officers were able to keep him on the
line and get resources in place. Officers and Deputies were able to observe and control the
movements of the suspect. During this rapid evolving situation, a portion of the City of Baker
was called and advised of pre-evacuation orders in case the situation escalated. Assets were
getting ananged to come to Baker to assist in this matter. Eventually the suspect left his
residence and with the assistance from an observant citizen, the suspect was detained by law
enforcement. When apprehended the suspect was found to be in possession of 45 caliber
handgun in his waistband, along with extra magazines on his person.

We would like to extend our thanks to the community and courthouse employees for their
understanding and cooperation along with all of the agencies involved and willing to assist.

Agencies involved with this incident included the Fallon County Sheriff’s Office, Baker Police
Department, Carter County Sheriff’s Office, along with asset assistance coming from the
Yellowstone County Sheriff’s Office, Rosebud County Sheriff’s Office, Treasure County
Sheriff’s Office, Custer County Sheriff’s Office, Dickinson Police Department and special
thanks to Jason Jarret with the Montana Sheriff’s Mutal Aid.
