Baker Rural Fire District – July 28th 2025 Special Meeting

THE SPECIAL BAKER RURAL DISTRICT MEETING WAS HELD JULY 28, 2025, AT 7:00 P.M. AT 8254 HIGHWAY

12 IN THE RURAL DISTRICT OFFICE.

PRESENT: Chairman; Turk Stark, Vice Chairman; Randy Hoenke, Treasurer; Dick Chester, Trustee; Shawn

Strangford, Trustee; Fred Hoff, Fire Chief; Tom Bruha, Secretary; Stephanie Croy

VISITORS: Scott Putman, Riley Chaska and Bryce Kramlick

The reason for the special meeting is to decide if the board would like to purchase the 2024 Freightliner down in Lubbock,  TX for a new grass rig.

There has been some discussion about purchasing something like this in previous meetings.  This truck is a brand-new  cab and chassis priced at $132,000.00.  There was much discussion and a lot of questions about this truck and what the plans are for it. There was talk about if this truck does not work for the grass rig it is perfect to replace the Rescue truck, which the guys would like to upgrade.

Tom had some figures for prices of a bed, 1,500 gal tank, pump, monitor and rigging up the truck the way the guys would like with a total of roughly $200,000.00.  After very much discussion Fred made the motion to move forward with the purchase of the truck. This would be a wire transfer later this week. Shawn 2nd the motion. There were 3 in support of purchasing the truck and 1 against purchasing the truck. Motion Carries.

The transportation to get the truck up here will be decided later. Fred and Tom will start working on getting items together to purchase for the truck and bring them before the board for them to be purchased.

There being no further business to come before the board. Dick made the motion to adjourn the meeting.  Fred 2nd the motion. Motion Carried.   All Aye. The meeting adjourned at 8:10 P.M.
