Baker Rural Fire District – February 2024 Meeting
THE REGULAR SCHEDULED BAKER RURAL DISTRICT MEETING WAS HELD FEBRUARY 1, 2024 AT 7:00 P.M. AT 8254 HIGHWAY 12 IN THE RURAL DISTRICT OFFICE.
PRESENT: Chairman; Turk Stark, Vice Chairman; Randy Hoenke, Treasurer; Dick Chester, Trustee; Chris Meccage, Fire Chief; Tom Bruha, Secretary; Stephanie Croy
ABSENT: Trustee; Fred Hoff
Motion was made to approve the presented minutes of the January 4, 2024, meeting by Dick. The motion was 2nd by Chris. Motion carried. All Aye.
OLD BUSINESS:
The top light on the South Tower is working. Water was the issue for the light not working. It was able to get into the light. This is just a temporary light till the day/night lights are in.
The tank is now off of Unit #490. The board discussed putting the 2250-gal tank out for bids. Tom will take pictures and advertise. Dick made the motion to put the tank out for bids. Motion was 2nd by Chris. Motion carried. All Aye.
NEW BUSINESS:
Unit 490 will need to be hauled out the get the new tank put on. The board received some bids for this job. They are as followed:
Gary Zumbrum – $4000.00
White Wood Transport – $4950.00
Tom will see when or if the truck could be hauled down now or whenever it works with who is hauling it.
Chris made the motion to accept Gary’s bid, which was 2nd by Dick. Motion carried. All Aye.
The wash bay lights are working all but one set. Direct Electric thinks this is needing a new light fixture. They have tried everything and have not been able to get them to work.
Tom heard there might be a benefit for, Doug Wenz. The board held some discussion and would like to contribute to this if one is held.
Dick made the motion to pay the bills. Chris 2nd the motion.

There being no further business to come before the board. Dick made the motion to adjourn the meeting. Chris 2nd the motion. Motion Carried. All Aye. The meeting adjourned at 7:30 P.M.
