1. Approve January 2024 MID Month Claims
Commissioner Rost motioned to approve the January 2024 MID Month Claims for the amount of $222,148.71. Commissioner Varner seconded the motion. Commissioner Braun asked for any further discussion; being none. 3 Ayes. 0 Nays. Motion carried unanimously.
2. Approve January 13-17, 2025 Commission Minutes
Commissioner Varner motioned to approve the January 13-17, 2025 Commission Minutes. Commissioner Rost seconded the motion. Commissioner Braun asked for any further discussion; being none. 3 Ayes. 0 Nays. Motion carried unanimously.
3. Executive/Action Items:
a. Decision on Radar Service Contract with the State of North Dakota.
Commissioner Rost motioned to approve the Radar Service Contract. Commissioner Varner seconded the motion. Commissioner Braun asked for any further discussion; being none. 3 Ayes. 0 Nays. Motion carried unanimously.
b. Decision on Fair Contracts.
Commissioner Rost motioned to approve two fair contracts: RKZ Live and Ryan Bueter/The Killer Dueling Pianos. Commissioner Varner seconded the motion. Commissioner Braun asked for any further discussion; being none. 3 Ayes. 0 Nays. Motion carried unanimously.
c. Decision on quotes for repairing/replacing ambulance radios.
Brittany explained the TAB Electronics quote. Replacing the radios would not fix the frequency issue; TAB recommends upgrading the batteries and base chargers for the radios first. Discussed current budget for the purchase.
Commissioner Varner motioned to approve the purchase of radio batteries from TAB Electronics for the amount of $3,474.70. Commissioner Rost seconded the motion. Commissioner Braun asked for any further discussion; being none. 3 Ayes. 0 Nays. Motion carried unanimously.
d. Decision on Cattle Guard Policy – Motion will be made during January 27th work session.
e. Decision on Road Petition
There was no discussion at this time.
f. Decision on Fairgrounds Display Board and front entrance sign/gate.
Jennefer updated on the Fair Board’s changes for the front entrance. Currently waiting for an updated quote from Baker Metal & Recycling. Discussed the timing of revamping the front entrance.
4. Old Business as needed
a. Review Rural Addressing Policy & Procedures/ Cindy Irgens, Recording Clerk
Cindy recommended updating the policy that is dated back in 2006; the Commission agreed.
b. Decision on changing how part-time employees’ holiday hours are calculated.
Julie explained the current calculations for part-time employees; scenarios of employees working more than their scheduled hours. Recommended holiday hours to be calculated based on hours worked. Discussed forgoing the policy change procedure being as it does not harm any employees. Discussed effective date.
Commissioner Varner motioned to approve the change to Policy 4.04 Holiday Pay – Part Time Benefits. Commissioner Rost seconded the motion. Commissioner Braun asked for any further discussion; being none. 3 Ayes. 0 Nays. Motion carried unanimously.
c. Decision on Elected Official compensation for Jennifer Fisher, Clerk of Court.
Commissioner Rost motioned to approve Jennifer Fisher’s Elected Official compensation per
MCA 7-4-2503. Commissioner Varner seconded the motion. Commissioner Braun asked for any further discussion; being none. 3 Ayes. 0 Nays. Motion carried unanimously.
d. Decision on increasing Paula Fuchs’s, Public Transportation Bus Driver hours.
Commissioner Varner motioned to increase Paula Fuchs’s part-time hours from eight hours to sixteen hours. Commissioner Rost seconded the motion. Commissioner Braun asked for any further discussion; being none. 3 Ayes. 0 Nays. Motion carried unanimously.
e. Decision on MTI quote for replacing the trane heat pump at Public Health.
Commissioner Varner motioned to approve the MTI quote for the amount of $15,430.00. Commissioner Rost seconded the motion. Commissioner Braun asked for any further discussion; being none. 3 Ayes. 0 Nays. Motion carried unanimously.
f. Decision on Olness & Associates, PC Standard Audit Contract Amendment for FY24 Audit.
Commissioner Rost motioned to approve the Audit Contract Amendment for FY 24 Audit. Commissioner Varner seconded the motion. Commissioner Braun asked for any further discussion; being none. 3 Ayes. 0 Nays. Motion carried unanimously.
g. Decision on Representative for the Montana Infrastructure Coalition and Invoice.
Commissioner Rost motioned to approve Jason Rittal as Fallon County’s Representative for the Montana Infrastructure Coalition with the membership renewal for the amount of $5,000.00. Commissioner Varner seconded the motion. Commissioner Braun asked for any further discussion; being none. 3 Ayes. 0 Nays. Motion carried unanimously.
h. Decision on Contractor’s Application for Payment #2 for Bergstrom Hill Road & Contract for seeding.
