6:32 PM MANAGERS REPORT
Jennefer gave the Board the past and present happenings at the Fairgrounds. Jennefer will be gone on May 31, 2024.
Baker Barrels will be in the outdoor arena. Kris Bartholomew was wondering if we could get the arena
worked well before. Eddie stated he would work it for them Thursday. Chuck Graham will be around, and he is
on the approved tractor list, and he will be able to take care of the rest of the weekend. There was an incident
at the lower stalls. I added a picture and the report to your folders to look over. Nikki, Jarek and Kane will be
starting on May 29th. Trevin and Kali will start on June 3rd. Motels are not looking good so far, so any help or
other ideas please let me know. We are on the waiting lists as of now as they are booked with a fiber upgrade
going on. I would like to have a dumpster back in the outdoor arena again for Barrels Day. Derrick will set the
holder back there and I will have the city bring me a dumpster. Commission asked about what you guys as the
Board wanted where the old hall was. I told them gravel. They suggested that we put up panels with a walkthrough gate to keep everyone from parking there and driving through.

June meeting.
Beer Booth-Will we use Gamma Beta again. Wendy said she heard of no issues this year and the Board
agreed. Jennefer will get them the contract this week.
Vendor/Merchandise Contracts-Jennefer said that she has had a few inquiries on Vendors and
applications. Along with food. She has a variety again. Wendy said it would be nice to get pizza, Chinese
or deep-fried ones like we had 1 year. Jennefer will look to see for the deep fried one. The Pizza one
Eddie suggested hasn’t responded.
7:00 PM NEW BUSINESS
Pedestals-Derrick got an updated estimate on the power pedestals. Brian with Direct suggested we use the
already trenched one along with the pedestals (it is $729 splice into estimate). Derrick said the pedestals are on
order.
Matt and Eddie looked at the Black Widow and it needs new teeth. Eddie said they were in bad shape last Fair.
Matt will get them counted and to Jennefer and she can order them.
Sawdust being in a Connex box near the barn was discussed as it was years ago. Jennefer was asked to talk to the
Board from Commission on this. Eddie said we don’t need to order any and as a Board they all agreed they want
it left in the Shop. Eddie said it’s not that bad for the kids to have to go down and get it.
Matt said the side by sides tires are shot. Eddie said they usually are each year. He can take care of getting them
done with Spiffys.
Eddie said the YRA would like to host another fall rodeo here. September 7 & 8th. Everyone agreed that would be
great again.
Jennefer presented the full-page colored ad costs for the Fallon County Times and would like to know if would
like to do that again. If so, what date would they like. Eddie said if tickets are going on sale on July 1st he thought
the week of June 28th would be good. The board agreed.

7:12 PM BUDGET MEETING
Budget Meeting
Kimberly Jensen-AP Clerk gave all Board members and Manager a packet that explained how the budgets worked.
What Commission expects and the different general ledger accounts. She gave everyone different tips, etc.
Talked about how inventory worked at over $500 each item is marked and accounted for each year. Usually, we
do it in the fall, but Jennefer did request for maybe a July count as there is a lot of items to account for.
Commission wants us to buy locally 1st. Understandably there are things we just cannot but even in the event the
item is a bit more expensive it is best to be done here in Baker. The Board then went down each of the line items
and discussed many things we would like to see in the future. Jennefer will get some estimates for some of the
projects the Board would like to see done. Kimberly asked for a copy of what we finalized here, and Jennefer will
get her a copy also once she gets it all typed up. Eddie sent Jennefer an old quote from a few years ago and
Jennefer will ask for an updated one. With no other budget things to discuss Matt asked for a motion to adjourn.
8:20 PM Justin Koenigsfeld made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Derrick DeHaan seconded the motion. The motion
carried. 4 Ayes. 0 Nays. 0 Absent.
