FALLON COUNTY WEED BOARD
September 2nd, 2025
Members in attendance: Sara Berger, Roddy Rost, Lance Kono, Bev Burghduff & Jesse Scott
Called the meeting to order at 5:35pm.
Jesse moved to accept the minutes, Lance 2nd – motion carried.
Sara explained that she didn’t have a budget at the time, which was ok since none of the costs would be on there at the moment with the new budget starting up. Bev asked about the wage budget and how that was set, Sara explained that was one of the line items that the commission set or dealt with.
Jeff Klos brought in a weed management plan. Bev moved to approve it, Jesse 2nd – motion carried.
Sara updated on the crew, the boys were done the week of fair. Owen and Kane confirmed they will be back for next summer, Hunter will also depending on an internship. The girls are still here and will be until the end of October if the weather works with us.
Sara explained that she had 19 private landowners done along with BLM, DNRC, DOT, FWP and county areas and have 5-6 more private landowners to do along with cattleguards and some spot spraying.
There was some discussion about having Bechtold’s come in and figuring out how to get some more landowners to move over to them, so we aren’t competing. We decided to discuss this more this winter.
Sara asked the board if they had thought about grant topics and that was moved to talk about at a later date.
We will skip the October meeting and meet again on November 3rd at 7pm.
