Health Board Meeting – July 9, 2025 – FMC Dining Room
Voting Members Present: Kevin Braun, Chairman; Trenton Harbaugh, Sheriff; Justin LaCroix, Chief of Police
Non-Voting Members Present: Roy Rost, Commissioner; Brian Sullivan, Health Officer; Mindi Murnion, Public Health Specialist; Kimberlee Rost, Community Health Worker; Darcy Wassmann, County Attorney; Eldon King, FMC Stakeholder; Megan Slagter, Minute Taker.
Members Absent: Mandi Varner, Commissioner; Aaron Skogen, Baker School Superintendent; Rich Menger, Sanitarian and Desiree Thielen, DES Coordinator
Meeting was called to order at 12:14 PM by Chairman Kevin Braun.
Public comment
No one appeared for Public Comment.
Approval of previous meeting minutes and 1/8/2025
Trenton Harbaugh motioned to approve January 8, 2025 meeting minutes. Justin LaCroix seconded the motion. Chairman Braun asked for any further discussion; being none. All for and none apposed. Motion carried.
Review by-laws
Discussed quarterly meeting months; decided to leave as is. Discussed changing the location for the board meetings. Discussed notifying the public for amending the by-laws.
Measles letter
Mindi reported on the measles letter; would give schools and parents notice of the school procedures when there is case of measles in the school. Discussed the law that enforces the students from quarantining from school if not vaccinated.
Justin motioned to approve the Measles letter with changes. Trenton seconded the motion.
Final draft of Fallon County CHIP
Mindi reported on draft CHIP plan for the Public Health Department; reviewed policy on social outreach on behavioral mental health.
Policy on implementing Mental Health media champaign
Discussed Testimonial Tuesdays with patients who are struggling with mental health. Mindi asked Brian to do a radio ad on mental health; would consider it if the ad was scripted. Pam Colombik would also be a good choice for a radio ad.
Sanitarian report
There was no Sanitarian report at this time. Mindi reported on recent Bridgercare grant received for pregnancy prevention. Flu and vaccine shots have been ordered for the fall. Updated on Sun Bus that will do skin screening on July 19th.
