Convene:
The meeting was called to order by Curt at 4:08 pm at the O’Fallon Museum metal building.
Public Comment: Time limit 10 minutes per subject.
Minutes: Read by trustees. Toni made a motion to approve minutes as read and Curt seconded. Minutes approved.
Old Business
Deaccessions Update from last time
● Brown buttons will be given to Gini Knipfer.
Train Grant update
● Grant is funded, train is ordered – through Historical Society
● Hoping May delivery – Melissa is in charge of getting that in
● Smoke stack, smoke machine, PA system, engine, coal car, three passenger cars, runs on gasoline
● If other organizations want to use it, they could give a free-will offering to use it
Accessions:
Toni made a motion to accept these items as references and Linda seconded it. Motion passed.
● Fallon County Times Newspaper – June 30, 1983 – on Baker High School Burning – we will use it as a reference material but not accession it.
● Fallon-Carter Counties – December 1979 telephone – use it as a reference and not accession it.
New Business: Toni made a motion to accept and Curt seconded it. Motion passed.
● Deaccessions
○ CM Russell Calendar Pages
○ Plastic flower
○ One blue Superman glove
○ Deaccession the album and retrieve the tintype and original photos.
○ 28 City Report Books
○ 40 telephone directories
■ Keep: 1916 Carlyle/Ollie, 1945 Baker/Ekalaka, 1955 Baker/Ekalaka, 1965 Baker/Ekalaka, maybe others that Traci thinks should be kept
Discussion of Curator’s Report:
● Traci went through the entire Past Perfect System.
○ Clean up information, update locations of items.
○ Made a list of unknown items or those without pictures.
○ Also added items to Past Perfect.
○ Cleaning inside heated buildings.
○ It would be good for the assistant to keep track of how much time was spent on each activity to justify asking for more hours.
● Six visitors since 24th of December
● Tomorrow 6th graders are coming for scavenger hunt
● Found some items to deaccession – should be deaccessioned (notes are above in New Business to Deaccession).
○ Traci has a list – all are accessioned individually
○ 40 telephone directories – upper level of block building
○ 2 sets of encyclopedias – unknown location
■ There are 16 total sets – Traci will go through and look for repeats, or any that can be deaccessioned.
○ 3 dictionaries – unknown location
○ 33 typewriters/adding machines – upper level of block building
○ 28 City Report Books – in the basement, upstairs block building, or unknown – 1911-1930 – Register of warrants
