Discussion of Curator’s Report:

  • Melissa put in her formal resignation as written notice for Dec. 23, 2024.
    • Baldwin and Braun have not responded to the notice of resignation or Melissa’s texts.
    • Julie Straub was going to recommend disciplinary action against Melissa for converting sick leave to personal leave, which Melissa had previously cleared with payroll.
    • The commission has made decisions over the years that have stifled and micromanaged the museum, its policies, and its programming, and have not offered support. The intent of these decisions seemed to be to push Melissa out as curator.
    • Traci Bruha might be interested in position as curator or director.
    • Melissa will be able to do so many more things as a volunteer without the interference and inhibition of the commission. We hope they will provide more support for the next curator.
    • Linda would still like to do STEM Camps and collaborate with the museum.
  • Melissa also resigned from the MAM Board.
  • Museum budget will continue through June 30, 2025.
