Health Board Meeting – December 10, 2025 – Fallon County Library EOC

Voting Members Present: Kevin Braun, Chairman; Trenton Harbaugh, Sheriff; Justin LaCroix, Chief of Police

Non-Voting Members Present: Mandi Varner, Commissioner; Nic Eisle, Sheriff Deputy; Steve Zachmann, City of Baker Mayor; Brittany Renner, EMS Program Manager; Kass Maierhaffer, Community Health Worker; Mindi Murnion, Public Health Specialist; Darcy Wassmann, County Attorney; Michelle Moser, Health Nurse; Rich Menger, Sanitarian; Desiree Thielen, DES Coordinator; Megan Slagter, Minute Taker.

Members Absent: Roy Rost, Commissioner; Aaron Skogen, Baker School Superintendent; Brian Sullivan

Meeting was called to order at 12:01 PM by Chairman Kevin Braun.

Public comment

No one appeared for Public Comment.

Approval of 9/10/2025 Minutes

Trent Harbaugh motioned to approve September 10th, 2025 meeting minutes. Justin LaCroix seconded the motion. Chairman Braun asked for any further discussion; being none. All for and none apposed. Motion carried.

Health Department Update

  • Communication Policy and Branding Policy
    • Mindi reported on the Communication Policy for the Public Health Department and the new Public Health logo.
  • Flu and grant money
    • Mindi reported on receiving a reimbursable grant for vaccines at Fallon Medical Complex; discussed using the remainder of the grant for a speaker at the next LEPC meeting.
    • Updated on new regulations to immunizations.
    • Currently there are no flu cases in Fallon County.
  • Community Health Worker Update
    • Kass reported on her current schedule with the schools and community; updated on completed trainings.

Tobacco update

  • Michelle reported on Senate Bill 390; advertised, and visited the schools along with several businesses. Updated on Red Ribbon Week for the Schools; attending Frozen Bun Run and donated a turkey dinner through Public Health.
  • Reported on new vision insurance program through Bowman for uninsured individuals.
  • Currently waiting for the County Attorney to revise the Clean Indoor Act policy.

Sanitarian update

  • Rich reported on Fallon County receiving 100% of the inspection report reimbursements.
  • Chairman Braun gave notice that Rich will be retiring later this month (December).

Discussion of by laws

  • Discussed changes that could be included. Discussed replacing the school representative for the Health Board.
