6:30PM CALL MEETING TO ORDER
Matt Plaisted called the meeting to order.

6:30PM APPROVAL OF AGENDA
Wendy Wagner motioned to approve June 30, 2025, Fair Board Agenda. Derrick DeHaan seconded the motion. The motion carried. 2 Ayes. 0 Nays. 2 Absent.

6:31 PM APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Derrick DeHaan motioned to approve June 16, 2025, minutes. Wendy Wagner seconded the motion. The motion carried. 2 Ayes. 0 Nays. 2 Absent.

Wendy Wagner motioned to approve June 16, 2025, Closed Session minutes. Derrick DeHaan seconded the
motion. The motion carried. 2 Ayes. 0 Nays. 2 Absent.

Wendy Wagner motioned to approve June 18, 2025, minutes. Derrick DeHaan seconded the motion. The motion carried. 2 Ayes. 0 Nays. 2 Absent.

6:32 PM MANAGERS REPORT
Jennefer gave them a list of the events present and past that have happened at the Fairgrounds
since the previous meeting. Sawdust was delivered. The kids are still working on painting the
arena. Do I need to call to put the sand removal on the schedule with the Road Department. Matt
Plaisted said it is on the calendar to be taken out on the 25th.


6:34 PM EXTENSION REPORT
No one attended the meeting. Jennefer was sent a printout of updates to give them. They asked if
any Fair board members would be available to run the equipment for set up on July 31st at 5PM. Derrick and Matt both stated they would try to be there. Would the Fairgrounds Crew hands be available. The Board decided that they are busy enough for the entire day working on things and can get stuff to the barn so that they will not be attending the evening set up.


6:34 PM PUBLIC COMMENT
No one appeared for Public Comment.
6:36 PM OLD BUSINESS
Bar Bids-Thee Garage did put in a bid for the Bar. Matt asked for a motion.
Wendy Wagner motioned to approve Thee Garage as the bar for the 2025 Fallon County Fair. Derrick DeHaan seconded the motion. The motion carried. 2 Ayes. 0 Nays. 2 Absent.


Vendor/Merchandise Contracts-Jennefer added to their packet all the vendors that have contacted us.
Sponsorships-Jennefer provided a list of the Sponsors to date.
Bear Hollow Logs-Derrick said that if approved by Commission he would go get more, he thought they needed 7 more logs. There are the ones on the hill. Matt Plaisted said he would help him if he
wanted him to go.


6:36 PM NEW BUSINESS
Food Vouchers-Jennefer explained who has been given food vouchers in the past. The Judges for
Thursday get lunch as if they leave and come back, they may not for longer than needed. The EMS and Sheriff’s department get them and the crew hands; office assistant and Jennefer usually get them.
After discussing it the Board has decided that EMS crew and the Sheriff Office will get 2 vouchers
per day per person on duty. The judges and Superintendents for Open Class will each get 1 voucher a
day. The crew hands, office assistant and Fairgrounds Manager will get 3 vouchers a day. The
person redeeming them will have to sign the voucher. Matt asked for a motion.

Wendy Wagner motioned to approve the vouchers for EMS, Sheriff’s office, judges and
superintendents, crew hands, office assistant and fairgrounds manager for the 2025 Fallon County
Fair. Derrick DeHaan seconded the motion. The motion carried. 2 Ayes. 0 Nays. 2 Absent.

Arena Lights-With the lights needing fixed we will need to make a motion to have the LED lights put
in that we asked in the budget for Direct Electric to install them before Fair. Once approved
Jennefer will ask the Commission for permission to move forward.
Wendy Wagner motioned to approve Direct Electric installing the new LED lights in the Outdoor
Arena. Derrick DeHaan seconded the motion. The motion carried. 2 Ayes. 0 Nays. 2 Absent.

Seasonal Projects-The crew hands are working on these projects as Jennefer talked about in the
Manager report.
Calcutta for Short Go Bronc Ride-This was decided by the Board it wouldn’t happen.
TETWP-Jennefer asked if we wanted to do this again this year. The board said yes, and Jennefer will
get the application filled out and sent off.
Wendy Wagner motioned to approve TETWP for Saturday’s Rodeo. Derrick DeHaan seconded the motion.

Rural Revival/Clothing Vendor-Both of these vendors would like to be down where the Dino Refuge was last year. The Board is great with that set up.
Free Stage/Master Schedule-Everyone looked at them and didn’t find any errors.
Mike’s Plumbing Grandstands-Mike gave us a estimate of fixing all the Grandstands. Megan is
getting Derrick DeHaan blueprints printed of the hydrant.
Wendy Wagner motioned to approve Mike’s Plumbing estimate for fixing the grandstands. Derrick
DeHaan seconded the motion. The motion carried. 2 Ayes. 0 Nays. 2 Absent.

Night Show Motorhome-Any ideas of a motorhome to use. Derrick DeHaan has someone he will ask and text everyone if there is a go.


Barn Fans-Jennefer explained that we had that estimate from Lane Straub to get them up and working for Fair. Wendy asked if Jennefer could see what Anthony Chester would charge and look at them also. Jennefer will contact him.


Other new business-Jennefer asked if the Board they were alright with getting with MDU on putting a light on that pole right in front of the Hall that shines maybe into the new vendor area. The Board
said yes, any light is better than what we have. Wendy will call Dennis Twedt about the light
towers for the parking lots and rodeo parking areas. We will discuss breakfast at the next meeting
and Jennefer will get the list that we have had in the past from Reynolds for the hospitality tent
and breakfast.

Matt asked for a motion to adjourn the meeting.
